Application Guidelines & Tips
We've put together a brief set of guidelines to help employers prepare their application:
Tell us your story. The application is an opportunity for you to share your organization’s story and make the case as to why you are a top employer. What sets you apart from your industry peers? What are some of the programs and policies that make you unique? This is a time for you to showcase your achievements and accomplishments as an organization.
A snapshot in time. The application is an annual undertaking that focuses on significant events of the past year. Be sure to keep the calendar year in mind when deciding what to highlight in your submission.
Document specifications. Submissions comprise of your Application Form, Supplement (Word document with extended responses) and other supporting documents such as benefits booklets, vacation policies, annual reports, etc. Each document may not exceed 50MB and accepted formats include PDF, Word, and Open Document. Please do not submit scanned PDFs.
Please ensure file names accurately describe each document. If documents correspond to a specific section of the application, kindly include as part of the file name (e.g. Part-6-benefit-booklets).
Keep in mind that digital submissions should be in portrait orientation. To help our team navigate your submission, use a table of contents that hyperlinks to each section of your Supplement as well as links to any supporting documents.
Working with PDF forms. Be sure to view the PDF outside of your browser in the stand-alone application Adobe Acrobat Reader. (If you've opened the application inside your browser, be sure to save to your desktop.) Avoid completing the PDF in other application viewers such as Preview (for Mac users). Don’t forget to save your progress as you complete each section!
Multiple employee groups. If you need to complete Part 6, 7, 8 and 12 for more than three employee groups (union, hourly, salaried, etc.) please email ct100@mediacorp.ca to receive a consolidated multi-group addendum.
